A Short Story
Our story began in April 1986, when Mr. George Templeman, a dedicated Optometrist, opened the practice alongside his daughter, Mary Baxter, a qualified Dispensing Optician. Together, they built a trusted, community-focused practice based on expert care and personal service.

After 26 wonderful years, Mary retired and passed the reins to Rachel Morcombe, a Dispensing Optician with over 22 years of experience. Rachel shares, “I’ve managed several optical practices and worked in both Broomfield and St. Peter’s hospitals, providing specialist paediatric care. The opportunity to return to my hometown and deliver exceptional service to the community is truly exciting.”

A Fresh New Space
Fast forward to 2025: after thriving on the High Street for many years, we embraced an exciting new chapter by moving to a spacious, modern location in Edwards Walk. Our new premises offers a fresh, contemporary setting with room to showcase new brands, enhance your shopping experience, and welcome additional staff to support our growing practice.
